The Adventures of Amina al-Sirafi
I picked this one up purely because of the cover. I think it’s fair to (and I often do) judge a book by its cover. In this case my refined taste in cover art did not fail me. This is a really fun read following a legendary pirate returning to the Arabian Sea for one final score. It’s a high seas adventure complete with treasure, ransoms, demons, and sea monsters. The book feels very surprisingly well researched for a fantasy novel. Every bit of magic is based on mythology, and there are tons of references to Arab language, culture, and customs. Looking forward to the rest of the trilogy coming out.
