Between Two Fires

Genre: Historical
5/10

Set during the Black Death, the story follows a knight turned bandit who saves the life of a young girl as they travel across a plague-stricken France. It’s got heavy religious undertones, characters asking questions like why God would allow something like the Black Death to happen. There are angels, demons, and even (what I interpreted as) a character meant to represent Christ’s return to Earth. It’s a cool blend of horror and historical fiction, something definitely outside of my genre comfort zone so I don’t really know how to rate it. Perfectly average seems fair.
